10:00am – Overview of Community Food Assessment findings and present the Food System Action Plan

11:00am – Breakout Session I

  • Access to Healthy Food – Looking at models for increasing access to healthy, affordable food in the community.
  • Local Food Marketing – Exploring how we can expand the market for local food through retail.
  • Mapping & Measuring – Looking at mapping our food system resources and how to measure local food consumption.

12:15pm – Lunch

1:15pm – Breakout Session II

  • Community Gardening – Looking into how to connect and support our community gardens to ensure access to garden space in the community.
  • Cooking Skills Education – Designing a model for cooking skills education to have a broader impact.
  • Local Food Infrastructure – Exploring what infrastructure we have and need in order to get local food from the farm to your table.

2:30pm – Break

2:45pm – Closing A cross-sector panel of representatives from the lead organizations participating in moving the food system plan forward to talk about how they see collaboration happening, opportunities for the community to engage and the role of policy in their work.
