Buy Local — Buy Rogue campaign members are independent, locally owned businesses who are committed to this region and its quality of life.  Our members are the heart of this campaign and support the community and each other in a variety of ways.  Whether they give monetary support, attend events or volunteer hours, our  members work together to:

  • Support the growth and development of a locally-controlled and socially, environmentally and economically sustainable economy
  • Increase public awareness about the importance of supporting local products, services and retail outlets
  • Create opportunities for business leaders to network and share best practices
  • Advocate public policies that strengthen independent local businesses and farms,  promote economic equity, and protect the environment

Why Buy Local?

Reason #5: Local Owners are Local Contributors

Research has shown that small local businesses make indispensable contributions to communities and neighborhoods. A study of charitable giving in Oregon showed that when in-kind contributions were included, small firms gave an average of $789 per employee, medium sized firms $172, and large firms $334. (NFIB Small Business Policy Guide) Additionally, large firms contribute primarily to the area where the corporation is headquartered, not necessarily where they do business.
